AVANT GARDE
The name of the company is AVANT GARDE (Pvt) Ltd. We are an indenting, consulting, importer, distributor and logistical support
company. We do business with Pakistani and foreign OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) who want sole representatives
and consultants for doing business in Pakistan. We also do work with foreign companies requiring logistical support for their
operations in Pakistan. The company was incorporated in Islamabad, Pakistan on 17th May 2006, under the Company's ordinance
1984. It is a private limited company limited by shares with paid up capital of Rs. one million.
BACKGROUND: The idea to form a indenting & consulting private limited company was conceived by Air Commodore (Retd) Salim
Shahid in the year 2004. Necessary spade work was done and he started working with M/s DEFCON (Pvt) Ltd as Director
Operations wef August, 2005 to gain hands-on experience. It was decided in April, 2006 that the time is ripe for formally launching
the company.
STATUS: Company is duly registered with Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan [SECP]. It is primarily an indenting,
consulting, importer, distributor and general order suppliers company. Mr. Salim Shahid is the Director/CEO of the company,
whereas Mrs. Farah Shahid is a working Director of the company.

CEO
The CEO of the company, who is also a Director of the company is Air Cdre (Rtd) Salim Shahid. He has 30 years of experience in
handling defense/civil related projects. He has been Director Air Traffic Services Pakistan.
BACKGROUND: Air Cdre (Retd) Salim Shahid has served in the PAF in Administration & Special Duties branch for more than 30
years. He has qualified basic & advance major courses relating to Administration, Management, Air Traffic Control, ATC radars
and Fire Services. He was awarded highest professional category ‘A’ & Professional Excellence Badge. He holds BSc [Honours]
degrees in Avionics & War Studies in First Division. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration [Human Resource
Management] with highest possible GPA [4].
EXPERIENCE: He was Director Air Traffic Services of Pakistan Air Force from July 2000 to June 2004. He has also worked on
deputation to Army Aviation, Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan and Royal Saudi Air Force for three years each. His work on airspace
management was commended by Pakistan, USA and UK. He was the architect of a five year plan for the revamping of PAF
operational facilities. The plan is now being implemented by the Air Force and new equipment is being procured including ATC
radars. CEO AVANT GARDE brings with him rich experience of management and administration as well as expertise in executing
aviation related projects. He was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (M) by the Government of Pakistan for his meritorious services.
